Administration of Irrevocable Trusts

Our attorneys routinely advise trustees, trust protectors and trust advisors regarding their fiduciary duties.  We also represent trust beneficiaries regarding their rights under a trust document.  In appropriate circumstances, our attorneys may serve as trustee — on the condition that the client has carefully considered other trustee options and has discussed relevant ethical and potential conflict of interest issues.

Our trust administration services include:

  • Advice regarding dispositive terms of trusts and standards for distributions to beneficiaries
  • Advice regarding a beneficiary’s rights
  • Advice regarding compliance with applicable statutes, including the New Hampshire Trust Code, the Uniform Principal and Income Act, and the Uniform Prudent Investor Act
  • Assistance with federal and state trust fiduciary income tax returns
  • Preparation of annual accounts

Orr & Reno’s full-service team can help you navigate next steps.
