Overview

Orr & Reno has built one of the most experienced, diverse, and highly-respected commercial leasing practices in northern New England. Our attorneys engage with clients in all types of complex leasing transactions, including the negotiation of leases for space in retail shopping centers, office buildings, mixed-use projects, and warehouses, ground leases for stand-alone facilities, and build-to-suit leases, as well as the many types of ancillary agreements that are specific to each project.

Our commercial leasing clients are landlords and tenants, including owners, developers, retailers, service providers, asset managers, real estate professionals, institutional investors, and publicly traded REITs. We pride ourselves in our efficiency and practical, results-oriented approach, attending to every detail and ensuring each project stays on track.

Our leasing attorneys draw on their experience handling all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and land use matters, and work closely with their colleagues in other specialties such as taxation and litigation to negotiate complex leases that satisfy all parties. Orr & Reno also supports our commercial leasing clients in landlord-tenant disputes, bankruptcies and restructurings, and various zoning and land use matters.

In addition to providing legal advice, our leasing attorneys understand the business of commercial leasing, monitoring industry developments through active membership in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), publishing written materials, and presenting to diverse audiences. In recent years, our attorneys have authored a chapter in “Commercial Lease Drafting in Massachusetts”, the definitive resource for Massachusetts leasing attorneys, and presented on leasing topics to the Real Estate Bar Association, the University of New Hampshire CEO & Family Enterprise Center, and the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce.

We’re here to help you identify, understand, and negotiate every aspect of your commercial leasing project — and get the deal done.
