Kerouac named AAML Fellow

Orr & Reno shareholder Margaret Kerouac was recently accepted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).

AAML Fellows are attorneys recognized by their peers for “unparalleled expertise and professionalism in the practice of matrimonial and family law.” They are, collectively, among the very best family law attorneys in the country. There are approximately 1,500 members in the United States. The admission process is rigorous and competitive, requiring references from attorneys and judges, interviews, a lengthy application, and passing a national test. At least seventy-five percent of an applicant’s practice must be devoted to the area of matrimonial and family law.

Kerouac has more than twenty years of experience helping her clients negotiate high-asset and complex divorce cases. Her skills include mediation, negotiation, collaborative law, and significant trial experience. She holds the designation of NITA Advocate (National Institute for Trial Advocacy).

Kerouac is also recognized by Best Lawyers in Family Law, Mediation, Arbitration, and Collaborative Law. She was named “Lawyer of the Year” in 2024, 2022 and 2018 by Best Lawyers and has been recognized by Super Lawyers for many years.

Orr & Reno is one of the region’s oldest and most distinguished law firms, with a wide range of practice areas and a depth of specialization and national representation that are exceptional for its size.
