Overview

Attorney

Michaela’s practice focuses on complex litigation matters at the state and federal level, personal injury, criminal defense, and land use, zoning and tax abatement.

Michaela served as a judicial law clerk for Magistrate Judge Talesha Saint-Marc and Chief Magistrate Judge Andrea Johnstone in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. Directly following law school, Michaela spent two years clerking for the State of New Hampshire Superior Court in both Strafford and Carroll County.

At Suffolk Law, Michaela participated in the Suffolk Prosecutors Program, where she argued various issues on behalf of the Essex County District Attorney’s Office as a Rule 3:03 Certified Student Attorney. She also authored a Note for the Suffolk Law Review considering the admissibility of evidence of past abuse, as part of expert testimony on battered woman syndrome, in support of a duress defense.

Hobbies

Michaela enjoys antiquing, searching for very old books and spending time outdoors with her spouse and their German Shepard, Rampart.

Professional & Community Involvement

Michaela continues to mentor and participate in events for UMass Women in Leadership (UWiL), an organization which supported her interests in public service and the law as an undergraduate student. In particular, UWiL provides young women leadership training and professional development opportunities in an effort to prepare a new generation of students to become public leaders.

Before serving as a judicial law clerk, Michaela was appointed as a Commissioner for the Essex County Commission on the Status of Women, an organization working to advance the women of Essex County towards full equality in all areas of life and to promote women’s rights and responsibilities.
