Overview

Paralegal

Lourdes has more than 30 years of experience working as a paralegal. She received her paralegal certification through the National Association of Legal Assistants paralegal certification program, a credential which has been recognized by the American Bar Association as a designation that marks a high level of professional achievement. She has furthered her education by receiving advanced paralegal certification designations in both family law and discovery.

Past Experience

Lourdes has experience as a paralegal working in corporate, intellectual property, litigation and family law matters.  She has also previously worked at a certified public accounting firm.  Since 2004, her work has been focused on family law and high-asset and complex divorces.  Lourdes works closely with the attorneys in the family law practice group to manage cases from start to finish.  She maintains contact with clients, prepares drafts of legal documents, drafts correspondence and pleadings, complex asset schedules and financial affidavits, reviews discovery, prepares interrogatories, drafts answers and objections to interrogatories, locates and interviews witnesses, prepares subpoenas and arranges for service, interacts directly with experts, prepares exhibits, and attends mediation, hearings and trials.  Her prior experience working at an accounting firm provided her with the knowledge of financial statements, tax returns and with skills to gather financials for clients and their businesses.

Hobbies

Lourdes is an avid reader of all genres.  She is also an avid knitter and has started learning how to spin yarn.
