Elizabeth C. Vélez

Elizabeth is a litigator representing clients on a breadth of legal matters before a wide variety of forums including administrative hearings, trial courtrooms (state and federal), and the New Hampshire Supreme Court.  She has successfully handled 10 matters on appeal involving the constitution, statutory interpretation, media, and evidentiary issues. Time and again, Elizabeth has zealously represented her clients within the court system, while simultaneously exploring cost-effective solutions to resolving their legal challenges outside of the courtroom.  She prides herself on practical, thoughtful, diligent client representation.

Past Experience

Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire School of Law where she participated in the Daniel Webster Scholar Honors Program and worked for: the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Legal Assistance, and the Legal Advice and Referral Center.  Elizabeth was an Associate Editor for the University of New Hampshire Law Review and graduated in the top 10% of her law school class.

After law school, Elizabeth clerked for Associate Justice James Bassett at the New Hampshire Supreme Court and for Chief Judge Landya McCafferty at the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire.  After these clerkships, she joined the Appeals Unit for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office where she successfully represented the State before the New Hampshire Supreme Court.

Elizabeth joined Orr & Reno in 2021 and her practice has included employment disputes, property disputes, professional misconduct, personal injury, and appellate practice.

Hobbies

Elizabeth enjoys spending her free time with her husband, son, and daughter.  She enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and scuba diving.  She recently hiked the 100-mile Wonderland trail around Mount Rainier with her daughter.
