Orr & Reno Attorneys Listed Among ‘The Best Lawyers in America’ – Three Selected “Lawyer of the Year”, Plus a “One to Watch”

Thirteen attorneys from the Concord law firm of Orr & Reno have been selected by their peers for inclusion in the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in America[1].

Peter F. Burger[2], Robert S. Carey[3], William L. Chapman[4], Jonathan M. Eck[5], Judith A. Fairclough[6], Susan S. Geiger[7], Margaret R. Kerouac[8], James F. Laboe[9], James E. Morris[10], Julie R. Morse[11], Douglas L. Patch[12], George W. Roussos[13], and Lisa Snow Wade[14] earned the distinction for a wide range of practice areas. Each attorney has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for multiple years.

Additionally, attorney Geiger was selected as Concord’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Energy Law[15], attorney Morse was selected as Concord’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), and attorney Wade was selected as Concord’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Health Care Law[16]. These distinctions are awarded to just a single attorney in each practice area in the community.

Also receiving first-time recognition as “One to Watch” in the practice of Family Law[17] is attorney Nicole A. Forbes[18].

The Best Lawyers in America is considered the definitive guide to legal excellence in the United States and inclusion is based on a confidential peer-review study by tens of thousands of lawyers. Lawyers are not permitted to pay a fee to be included in the listings, which were first published in 1983.

• Burger is selected in the practice areas of Commercial Finance Law, Corporate Law, and Real Estate Law. He has been listed since 2005.
• Carey is selected in the practice areas of Commercial Litigation, Criminal Defense (general practice), Criminal Defense (white collar), Litigation – Land Use and Zoning, and Litigation -Personal Injury (defendants). He has been listed since 2020.
• Chapman is selected in the practice areas of Appellate Practice, Litigation, and First Amendment Law. He has been listed for 31 consecutive years, dating back to 1991.
• Eck is selected in the practice areas of Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Insurance, and Personal Injury Litigation (defendants). This is his third year of recognition.
• Fairclough is selected in the practice area of Family Law. She has been listed since 2009.
• Geiger is selected in the practice area of Energy Law. She has been listed since 2007.
