Maureen D. Smith Publishes Article in NHBA Bar News

Maureen Smith, an Orr & Reno shareholder who counsels clients on matters related to environmental and energy issues, published an article in the Oct. 21 edition of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Bar News.

“Building a 21st Century Power Grid: The Case for Burying High-Voltage Transmission Lines[1]” examines the current debate over siting above-ground transmission towers versus burying transmission lines underground from the perspective of ensuring future power grid resiliency.

Smith is a member of Orr & Reno’s Energy & Environmental practice group and represents clients in a broad range of regulatory matters involving energy project development, construction and operational compliance. She has previously published articles in the NHBA Bar News, the New Hampshire Business Review and NH Business Magazine.

Smith joined Orr & Reno in 2008 after practicing environmental law in both private and government offices, includingthe New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.
